AZ MILITARY FAMILY RELIEF FUND COMMITTEE NEEDS NOMINEES BY OCT. 31

The Military Family Relief Fund Advisory Committee is soliciting applications to fill two vacancies.

Its purpose is to provide financial assistance to combat veterans who have served since 9/11/2001 in a combat zone and need financial assistance.

The governor appoints the members of the committee based on recommendations by the Arizona Department of Veterans Services (ADVS) director, the State Adjutant General, and commanders of Arizona military bases.

The ADVS director asks that nomination packets be submitted by Oct. 31, 2010, including:
o A letter of recommendation for the nominee from the commander of the military installation or the State Adjutant General, or a note from the person requesting the director's nomination;
o The application for boards and commissions, completed by the nominee;
o A copy of the nominee's resume; and
o A copy of the DD214 or orders, if applicable
